 Bag o’ tricks

Since lauching in 1990 French designers Benoit Jamin and Isabelle Puech’s stunning individual designs for label Jamie Peuch have taken on a life of their own on the catwalks of Chanel, Chloe and Lagerfeld and the label has been coveted by fashionistas all over the world. The designer’s new collection for autumn/winter plays elegantly with the trend for fringing. We love this bright red funky chain bag, £230.

 Brunettes, have more fun

Brunettes: Hurry to Aveda to pick up a bottle of the brand’s extra special limited-edition Vintage Clove Shampoo – a re-release of the 1978 product in all its original packaging on sale to celebrate Aveda’s 30th anniversary. Made from organic essential oils and plant-based ingredients the shampoo enriches and enlivens all shades of brown hair, from auburn to mousey. Aveda’s Clove shampoo works a treat so I’m bang into the idea of vintage clove. Oh, and here’s a little secret from top hairdressers: a major cause of dull hair is over-shampooing so, to create glossy, luscious locks, use less shampoo and ensure you rinse it out very very thoroughly with plenty of clean water. £9.50 from Aveda, House of Fraser, John lewis and other major department stores.

 Golden girl

No self-respecting make-up junkie should be without a glistening and glinting of gold in their beauty stash, especially since make-up artists swear by the colour for deflecting light and warming up the skin. Chanel has the midas touch with their gorgeous new gold range: Highlighter in Gold Fever, £29; Lip Gloss in Gold Light, £17.50; Gold Fiction Facettes d’Or Nail Colour, £17, available from Chanel.com and Chanel counters in department stores nationwide.

 Tod’s and Gwyneth

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has angered animal rights campaigners by fronting the autumn collection of fur-lined boots and bags and ostrich and snakeskin products by Italian company Tod’s. It does seem a somewhat strange move for the 35-year-old, especially given the fact that both the Hollywood star’s hubbie and good friend Stella McCartney are both staunchly vegetarian. Tod’s latest ad campaign will feature photographs of Gywnnie draped in fox fur.

 Rap attack

It’s official: Karl Lagerfeld loves rap. Yes, that’s right rap. And the proof is in the pudding - or rather this photograph from the latest issue of American Harper’s Bazaar. Posing in a pair of Phat Farm jeans and statement t-shirt, the French designer takes off the rap look surprisingly easily. The photograph is part of a special portfolio of designers, including Giorgio Armani and Roberto Cavalli, all of whom have been pictured living out their fantasies… and rap is clearly Lagerfelds. Well why not?

 Cruise control

The leather pleat bodiced navy gown Mrs Cruise wore earlier this week for the Tropic Thunder premiere has been causing quite a stir as stylists and fashionistas went into frenzied debate trying to work out who it was by… As it transpires, the chic frock was designed by none other than Mrs Cruise herself (in collaboration with her stylist Jeanne Yang of course). Will La Cruise be the next celeb to break into fashion design StyleJunkee wonders?

 The smell of luxury

Bond Street perfumer Ormonde Jayne is one of the fashion pack’s best kept secrets and the hottest new name in luxury fragrances, bath and body lotions and scented candles. Creator and founder Linda Pilkington (whose perfumery skills are, rather impressively, self-taught) is soon to be opening second boutique in Dubai. StyleJunkee loves the Ormonde scented candle. Each candle has a burning time of over 55 hours and is hand-poured in the perfumery in London.
